Ever fancied teaching your own Puddle Ducks classes?

In September Puddle Ducks is expanding its business to provide swimming classes in South Tyneside, Sunderland, the Tyne Valley and Northumberland and, as such, we are looking for 2 new weekend teachers. The roles are weekends only to begin with, but there may be opportunity for further hours in the future.

You don’t need to have any prior experience, but you do need confidence in the water and a passion for baby swimming.

The roles are term time only with very competitive rates of pay. You will need to be available for training in July and August.

If you would like more details about these opportunities, or you would like to apply for the position, please contact us by email at:

newcastle@puddleducks.com

Closing date for applications is 1st June

Birth Doula Practitioners

If you could keep spreading the word about the Network, that would be great, as it is a great free resource for local parents with a young family on Tyneside.

In addition to this website, there is also the Facebook Page and you can catch up on Twitter with Birth & Baby Network and Birth & Baby Basics so there’s plenty on offer for anyone with a bump, baby or toddler…

As it’s a New Year, here’s a reminder of what the Birth & Baby Network provides for expectant and new parents on Tyneside…

The Network links together a good range of support and services across Tyneside, which are run by professional and experienced practitioners and it provides interesting and useful information for parents.

The Network website contains a range of information for expectant and new parents. It is updated several times a week with:

Monday – Pregnancy information

Wednesday – Birth information

Friday  – Baby information

And general information, news stories, reviews and a pregnancy diary in-between.

Swimming Lessons

A new survey has found that 40% of children can’t swim: www.telegraph.co.uk/women/mother-tongue/9650491/Nearly-half-of-British-children-cant-swim-and-its-their-parents-fault.html

Swimming is fun and can give children some great new adventures. My kids love the pool and jumping in off the diving pool and there was nothing better than watching them spend hours in the Spanish sea this summer – swimming, playing, exploring with their snorkels on.

Puddle Ducks teaches babies, toddlers and school children how to swim and be safe in the water. They have courses running all over Tyneside and it could mean a whole new world of adventures for your children.
