To provide ongoing chat, support and reassurance for mums while they are still on maternity leave I am now running Confident Mums…Afternoon Chill Out on Thursday afternoons.
It isn’t a course, so you just need to book a place week by week or just come along if you need more support on sleep, feeding, weaning, going back to work…
There will be cake and tea and you can spend a relaxing afternoon by the fire
The Network links together a good range of support and services across Tyneside, which are run by professional and experienced practitioners and it provides interesting and useful information for parents.
The Network website contains a range of information for expectant and new parents. It is updated several times a week with:
Monday – Pregnancy information
Wednesday – Birth information
Friday – Baby information
And general information, news stories, reviews and a pregnancy diary in-between.
Pilates – specialist classes to help you look after your body as it changes shape during pregnancy
Chiropractic Care – it can help to ease any aches and pains as your body grows to accommodate your growing baby
Reflexology and Massage – relax, chill, de-stress and ease any backache
Yoga – specialist classes to help you relax and boost your feelings of wellbeing
Antenatal Classes for first and second time parents – to inform, support and reassure
Doula Service – for extra support in labour
Baby Massage – relaxed classes for mum and baby with plenty of chat, tea and cake too
Baby Sensory – fun classes held all over Tyneside to help your baby play and explore
Puddle Ducks – swimming classes held all over Tyneside for babies and toddlers
Aerobic Mums – a low impact exercise class to increase your energy and help you get back into shape
Pushy Mothers – get out with your buggy to help you feel fitter
Toddler Sense – fun classes to encourage your toddler to learn through play
This year the Network will also bring parents more information and services for toddlers and pre-schoolers, as well as more information for dads, to make it a useful source of information for parents with a young family.
My weekly drop-in at Kiki’s Kabin in North Shields is back TODAY with a new time slot: 1.30-3pm
It is free for mums and babies and there is a small entrance fee for over 1’s. There is a great little cafe, plenty of chat and the opportunity to ask questions about all things baby.
If you can help me spread the word, that would be great – let’s make this a fantastic place for mums with babies and toddlers to head to…

And if anyone would like to get involved in writing articles for the blog, please get in touch
Thanks so much for all the support so far
